Copper Wreck
A British Man 'O' War with a copper-bottomed hull foundered on the reef on the western tip of the Akrotiri Peninsula some 120 years ago. Not much remains from the original wreck, although you regularly retrieve the copper and brass pins and nails embedded in bits of the hull. Caves, Archways and many species of fish ~ 9 metres.
Caverns and Caves
100 metres offshore from Tombs you can find an incredible array of ancient tunnels with an abundance of marine life. Very much a search and see location and the boat will pick you up wherever you surface ~ 12 metres.
Archways and Pinnacles
A large Archway with four pinnacles situated on every major compass point. An abundance of marine and fish life to be found all over the area. Great sponge growth and soft corals around the Arch. Good Navigation Site ~ 21 metres.
Three Stars Wreck
After catching fire and running aground back in 1972 this wreck is now very safe to enter in many parts. It’s shallow depth allows even inexperienced divers to have a look around. Interesting exploratory dive for all levels ~ 7 metres.
Wreck of The Diana
A 65’ sailing yacht foundered in a storm and settled upright. Masts and other debris in the vicinity make this an interesting dive for most divers. Local people have even started to create a man-made reef around the wreck to encourage habitation. Storm damage has now made this more of a poke around dive now ~ 21 metres
Fish Breeding Farm
The local fish farming nets, anchored 1km from the beach have some resident Tuna living underneath the nets. With a constant food supply these beast grow huge with some measuring up to 3 and 4 metres long. It is great to spend some time watching these predators buzzing the divers. Great for those with experience and good buoyancy control. The dive is with a total overhead restriction so it is not carried out that often for safety reasons ~ 14 – 40 metres max.
Pharses II Wreck
This open decked, twin hatched cargo ship of less than 1000 tons is lying on its starboard side and fully intact. It went down in a storm in 1980 when the cargo shifted, so it is still very well preserved. An abundance of marine life can be observed here. Penetration can be achieved although under strict supervision. Lying 800 metres away but in the direct path of the entrance to Limassol Port you will always hear the sound of passing ships as they come and go ~ 21 metres.
MV. Habe Wreck
A very good training wreck for beginners, also good for experienced divers who like to rummage. This 1000-ton Barge is semi-submerged against the Limassol harbour wall. 1980 was a good year for wrecks in Cyprus and funnily enough it was the cargo that it had brought to Limassol previously that sank this one. Full explanations on the briefing! Although quite broken up it still makes for an interesting poke around dive ~ 9 metres.
Akrotiri Fish Reserve
An amazing opportunity to interact with the local marine life. This site is within the British Sovereign Base Area and has been developed by the military to encourage marine life to flourish. A very shallow dive making it suitable to all levels of divers and great for photography. Hand-feed grouper, bream and bass and be inundated with thousands of smaller multi-colored wrasse and damselfish. Morays, Congers and Octopus are frequently seen and interacted with ~ 9 Metres Max.
Big Country
A great multi-level site with many caves, overhangs and very large boulders, some more than 12 metres high. Grouper, Morays, Octopus and large shoals of damselfish are found here. Depending on the time of the year we often see large schools or Tuna passing through. Max depth ~ 23 metres.
Twin Rocks
Two large rock pinnacles protruding out of the water from a depth of 21 metres with a fringing reef running off from it to the shore. A blowhole can be found on the eastern rock. Caves and a lot of interesting marine life will be found in the surrounding area ~ 21 metres.
Sharks Cove
Don’t panic…it used to be called Fisherman’s Cove and Sharks unfortunately, have never been sighted here. This is a spectacular Cove on the Akrotiri Peninsula and a firm favorite for snorkelers and swimmers as it is a sheltered area. A submerged Tunnel at 8 metres deep starts and ends the dive where in between you glide along the cliff face before circling back over a rocky reef bottom. Many shallow caves and holes to peek into ~ 12 metres
Tombs
Very close to the shore there are a series of apparently man-made caves, which resemble ancient tombs. The cliff face does erode and quite often exposes ancient burial grounds that makes us think they were cut out on purpose. Very scenic with prolific marine life ~ 12 metres.
